Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be applying for full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programs as new international students.
- Hold a conditional or unconditional offer of place from the University of Waikato, including pathway programs like:
- Certificate of Attainment in English Language
- Foundation Studies
- Certificate of University Preparation
- International Diplomas (Business/Computer Science)
- Diploma of Postgraduate Preparation (Pre-Masters).
- Have a minimum GPA equivalent to B+ in their qualifying degree.
- Not be:
- Currently enrolled at the University of Waikato.
- Sponsored by another body.
- Joining under Guaranteed Credit Arrangement, study abroad, or student exchange programs.
Scholarship Values
- Undergraduate Students:
- 1-Year Tenure: NZD $2,500–$8,000 applied to tuition fees in the first year.
- 2-Year Tenure: NZD $2,500–$12,000, with a maximum of $8,000 in the first year and $4,000 in the second year.
- 3-Year Tenure: NZD $2,500–$15,000, with a maximum of $8,000 in the first year, $4,000 in the second year, and $3,000 in the third year.
- Postgraduate Students:
- NZD $2,500–$15,000 applied to one or more years of study.
- Funds are applied directly to tuition fees upon or after enrollment completion.

- Online application detailing:
- Motivation for studying at the University of Waikato.
- Plans to serve as a global ambassador for the university.
