E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarships for STI

Eligible Degree

  • Master’s (M.Sc.) and Doctorate (Ph.D.) degrees in the fields of Science or Engineering.

Brief Overview

  • Purpose: To develop high-quality human resources in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) towards building an African STI network.
  • Providers: Egyptian government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
  • Intake: Fall 2025.
    • Approximately 33 M.Sc. and 40 Ph.D. scholarship slots available.

Details of the Scholarship

Scholarship Term

  • Covers the necessary period to complete degree requirements:
    • M.Sc.: Two years, with an additional six months of preparatory courses if required.
    • Ph.D.: Three years, with an additional six months of preparatory courses if required.
  • Support contingent on good academic standing, evaluated semi-annually through progress reports.

Conditions

  • Full-time scholarship; recipients must devote their time exclusively to study and research at E-JUST.
  • Employment outside the program is prohibited during the scholarship period.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Nationality: Must hold citizenship of an African country, excluding Egypt.
  • Residency: Must have a current home address in an African country.
  • Military Status: Must not be serving in the military.
  • Professional Status: Applicants should be researchers, instructors, or individuals expected to assume such roles.
  • Admission: Must fulfill admission requirements, pass the academic interview, and succeed in the oral examination.
  • Institutional Endorsement: Preference for applicants who plan to return to their home institutions post-graduation, with endorsement required from their home institutions.
