Eligibility Requirements

  1. Nationality: Must be a citizen of a country other than China and in good health.
  2. Age and Education:
    • Bachelor’s Program: High school diploma, under 25 years old.
    • Master’s Program: Bachelor’s degree, under 35 years old.
  3. Language Proficiency:
    • Chinese-instructed programs: HSK-5 with a minimum score of 180 (exemptions for native speakers or graduates of Chinese-taught programs).
    • English-instructed programs: TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0 (exemptions for native speakers or graduates of English-taught programs).
      • English MBA: TOEFL 85 or IELTS 6.5.
  4. Conduct: Good character, physical and mental health, and willingness to abide by Chinese laws and university regulations.

  1. Highest Diploma (or pre-graduation certificate for current students).
  2. Academic Transcripts (notarized copy).
  3. Photocopy of Passport (ordinary passport).
  4. Tianjin Government Scholarship Application Form.
  5. Language Proficiency Certificate (HSK, TOEFL, or IELTS).
  6. Study Experience Resume.
  7. Study or Research Plan:
    • Bachelor’s: Minimum 600 words.
    • Master’s: Minimum 800 words.
  8. Recommendation Letters: Two from professors or associate professors (for Master’s applicants).
  9. Acceptance Letter from TJU Supervisor (for Master’s applicants).
  10. Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.
  11. Visa and Transfer Certificate (for current students in China).
  12. Non-Criminal Record or Student Performance Letter.
  13. Financial Statement (bank deposit certificate or guarantor’s income certificate).
  14. Additional Attachments (e.g., E-work Collection for Architecture applicants).

How to Apply for the Scholarship

  1. Online Application: Complete the application at tju.at0086.cn/student between October 15, 2024, and May 31, 2025.
  2. Document Submission: Upload all required documents to the application system.
  3. Application Review:
    • June 1–June 30, 2025: TJU and Tianjin Government review applications.
  4. Result Announcement:
    • July 1–August 31, 2025: Admission results, notices, and visa forms sent to winners.
