Eligibility Requirements
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of a country other than China and in good health.
- Age and Education:
- Bachelor’s Program: High school diploma, under 25 years old.
- Master’s Program: Bachelor’s degree, under 35 years old.
- Language Proficiency:
- Chinese-instructed programs: HSK-5 with a minimum score of 180 (exemptions for native speakers or graduates of Chinese-taught programs).
- English-instructed programs: TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0 (exemptions for native speakers or graduates of English-taught programs).
- English MBA: TOEFL 85 or IELTS 6.5.
- Conduct: Good character, physical and mental health, and willingness to abide by Chinese laws and university regulations.

- Academic Transcripts (notarized copy).
- Photocopy of Passport (ordinary passport).
- Tianjin Government Scholarship Application Form.
- Language Proficiency Certificate (HSK, TOEFL, or IELTS).
- Study Experience Resume.
- Study or Research Plan:
- Bachelor’s: Minimum 600 words.
- Master’s: Minimum 800 words.
- Recommendation Letters: Two from professors or associate professors (for Master’s applicants).
- Acceptance Letter from TJU Supervisor (for Master’s applicants).
- Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.
- Visa and Transfer Certificate (for current students in China).
- Non-Criminal Record or Student Performance Letter.
- Financial Statement (bank deposit certificate or guarantor’s income certificate).
- Additional Attachments (e.g., E-work Collection for Architecture applicants).
How to Apply for the Scholarship
- Online Application: Complete the application at tju.at0086.cn/student between October 15, 2024, and May 31, 2025.
- Document Submission: Upload all required documents to the application system.
- Application Review:
- June 1–June 30, 2025: TJU and Tianjin Government review applications.
- Result Announcement:
- July 1–August 31, 2025: Admission results, notices, and visa forms sent to winners.
