- A fully funded scholarship for women from 10 countries in Africa and Asia to pursue master’s programs in Sweden.
- Focuses on developing future female leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
- Aims to foster diversity and contribute to the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Details of the Scholarship
- Offered by the Swedish Institute (SI) for full-time, English-taught master’s programs in STEM fields in Sweden.
- Available for master’s programs beginning in the autumn semester.
- List of eligible master’s programs to be published on November 1, 2024.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a female citizen of one of the eligible countries.
- Must apply to designated master’s programs through University Admissions.
- Must not have a prior SI Scholarship, Swedish university degree, or extensive residence in Sweden.
- Cannot have a Swedish or EU/EEA citizenship, Swedish residence permit based on family or work ties, or dual citizenship in non-eligible countries.

Scholarship Values
- Full tuition coverage, paid directly to the Swedish university.
- Monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 for living expenses.
- Travel grant of SEK 15,000 (one-time payment).
- Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP) for professional networking.
- Membership in the SI Alumni Network for continued professional growth post-scholarship.
Note: The scholarship does not cover:
- Insurance (check with university for coverage options).
- Additional grants for family members.
- Application fees for University Admissions.
- Changes to the study program or scholarship period.
Required Documents
- Proof of citizenship from an eligible country.
- Application to designated master’s program(s) through University Admissions.
- Confirmation form to SI regarding the university application.
How to Apply for the Scholarship
- Select a Master’s Program
- Application period: October 15, 2024 – January 15, 2025
- Choose from designated master’s programs in STEM for the 2025/2026 academic year.
- Apply through University Admissions
- Submit applications via University Admissions.
- Deadline: January 15, 2025.
- Pay application fees and submit required documents by February 3, 2025.
- Notify SI of Your Application
- Complete the “Confirmation of University Application” form on the SI website between November 1, 2024 – January 15, 2025.
- Receive Notifications
- March 27, 2025: University Admissions announces program admissions results.
- April 24, 2025: SI announces scholarship award recipients.
