The Chinese Government Scholarship – High Level Postgraduate Program and Silk-Road Program are fully funded scholarships for outstanding foreign students to pursue postgraduate degrees in China. This program aims to foster young international leaders through advanced education in China.
Details of the Scholarship
Duration of Study:
Master’s Program: 3 years
PhD Program: 4 years
Language of Instruction: Generally in Chinese, with some programs available in English.
Restrictions: Scholarship recipients are typically not allowed to change their institution, major, or duration of study after starting the program.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.
Education Background and Age Limit:
Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree, under 35 years old.
PhD applicants: Master’s degree, under 40 years old.
Must meet the language requirements for the chosen program.
Eligible Countries
Applicants from various developing nations are eligible.
Scholarship Values
Tuition waiver

Monthly stipend:
Master’s students: 3,000 CNY
PhD students: 3,500 CNY
Comprehensive medical insurance coverage
International travel expenses are not covered.

Required Documents
Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form: Complete and submit online through the CSC portal (Agency No. of DUT: 10141).
DUT Application Form: Complete and submit online through DUT’s application website.
Notarized Highest Diploma: If currently enrolled, provide a study certificate. Non-English/Chinese documents require notarized translations.
Academic Transcripts: From undergraduate level onwards, with notarized translations if not in Chinese/English.
Study Plan Proposal: Minimum 1000 words in Chinese or English, signed by a DUT supervisor.
Two Recommendation Letters: From professors or associate professors, detailing academic and personal qualifications.
Foreigner Physical Examination Form: Required, with specific completion guidelines.
Blood Test Report: Must include HIV, Syphilis, HbsAg, and HCV results.
Passport Photocopy: Must include photo page and one blank visa page (passport valid through September 2025).
Language Proficiency Certificates: HSK for Chinese-taught programs or TOEFL/IELTS for English-taught programs.
No-Criminal Conviction Certificate: Valid for six months.
Additional Materials (if applicable):
Acceptance letter from DUT supervisor
Employment certificate (if employed)
Visa copy (if currently in China)
One passport-size photo (3cm x 4cm)
How to Apply for the Scholarship
Submit an application through DUT’s website, selecting “Scholarship” as the project.
Email all application documents in a ZIP file to [email protected]. The email subject should follow the format: “DUT application number + passport last name + passport name.”
