Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.
  • Must have a valid degree:
    • Bachelor’s degree for Master’s applicants.
    • Master’s degree for PhD applicants.
  • Language requirements:
    • Chinese-taught Program: HSK 5 (minimum score 210) or HSK 6 (minimum score 180).
    • English-taught Program: TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0; or proof of prior education in English. Native English speakers are exempt.

  8. Non-criminal record certificate or affirmation form
  9. Statement of Financial Support
  10. Foreigner Physical Examination Form
  11. Study plan (min. 800 words) and research proposal (if available)

How to Apply for the Scholarships

  1. Submit the application online via the ECUST application system.
  2. Register and select “Online Application – Self-sponsored – Doctoral Student/Master Student.”
  3. Upload required documents, including the scholarship application form(s).
  4. Pay the application fee of 600 CNY online or by bank transfer, and upload the payment receipt.
  5. Note: Only one application per applicant is permitted. Duplicate applications are not allowed.
