Brief Overview
The Chinese Government Scholarship supports international students for higher education in China.
Application periods are divided into two batches:
First Batch: November 1, 2024, to February 20, 2025 (all majors available)
Second Batch: February 21 to March 31, 2025 (limited to specific majors)
Details of the Scholarship
Batch Information:
First Batch: All majors, more quotas, higher chances of selection.
Second Batch: Limited to Transportation Engineering, Logistic Engineering and Management, Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration.
Applicants not selected in the first batch are automatically reconsidered in the second batch.
Eligibility Requirements
Non-Chinese nationals in good health
Education and age limits:
Bachelor’s: High school diploma, under 25 years old
Master’s: Bachelor’s degree, under 35 years old
Doctoral: Master’s degree, under 40 years old
Language Requirements:
Chinese-Medium Programs:
Bachelor’s: HSK Band 4 (180+)
Master’s/Doctoral: HSK Band 5 (180+)
English-Medium Programs:
TOEFL IBT (80+), IELTS (6.0+), or Duolingo (100+)
Exemption possible for previous English-taught education or applicants from English-speaking countries
Scholarship Values
Fees Covered:
Registration fee, tuition, and accommodation fees
Monthly Allowance:
Bachelor’s: RMB 2,500
Master’s: RMB 3,000
Doctoral: RMB 3,500

Required Documents
CSC Application Form (in Chinese or English)
Highest Diploma (original and notarized copy; On-study Certificate if still in school)
Academic Transcripts (original and notarized copy; average score 80 or higher, with possible exceptions to 78)
Motivation Letter (500+ words in program language)
Research Proposal (for Master’s/Doctoral; must include introduction, questions, literature review, methodology, etc.)
Two Recommendation Letters from professors or associate professors
Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for six months)
Conditional Acceptance Letter (from future supervisor for Master’s/Doctoral programs)
Language Proficiency:
HSK 3+ (for Chinese-medium Bachelor’s)
HSK 4+ (for Chinese-medium Master’s/Doctoral)
TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo for English-medium programs (if applicable)
Certificates of Achievements (academic, cultural, or sports activities)
Non-Criminal Record (issued within six months of application)
