About Candidate

Ntwali Salomon is a biotechnology graduate with first-class honors from the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology. Recognized also as a Bronze medalist in the 2024 Global Open Genetic Engineering Competition, Salomon is driven by an enduring passion for Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, and Microbiology.
Harboring extensive experience as a laboratory attendant at UR-CST, he contributed to various research projects on eDNA analysis, Biochemical Characterization of Yeast from Traditional wine, and AMR study of mastitis-associated pathogens. His academic internship at Africa Improved Foods provided hands-on training in quality control where he gained skills in microbiology and chemical testing as well as the ISO17025 standard. Furthermore, Salomon expanded his expertise in bioprocessing, workplace readiness, and Good Laboratory Practices through training with UVUBio Rwanda.
Beyond academics, he co-founded the Rwanda Biotechnology Student Network creating a platform for aspiring biotechnologists. He also earned several certifications in bioinformatics, data science, antimicrobial stewardship, etc, and volunteered in the First Lego League as an FLL trainer for the 2024 FLL competition. Salomon’s academic journey and diverse skill set are grounded in a commitment to advancing biotechnology solutions in Rwanda and beyond.
